When exploring species distributions using Explore all records and a species filter, I have found a record which does not appear in the Verification grid when I select All records.
I only realised this as the record in question is very out of range and I would like it to be rejected, but I cannot do this, or delete it.
Given the above, it seems likely that there are others which are not so obvious.
This record refers to a dataset under the Survey: WildWatch Historic Dataset - CBDC. There is no recorder name. It has been inputted and verified by admin, core.
If anyone can shed any light on where this has come from I could be most grateful.
Thanks
Tristan
hi Tristan
Do you have the record ID so we can investigate.
thanks, David
Hi David,
Thanks for getting back to me - the record ID is 4570335 and relates to a sighting of Coreus marginatus near Carlisle.
I discovered that it is possible to filter out the record by excluding the Survey under the Source menu, something which I have never investigated before.
Best wishes
Tristan
Sorry to bother you further David, but now I have your attention, I have a further query about records of two species which appear under the Verification grid but not in Explore All Records.
There are only c600 Western Conifer Seed Bug records shown in Explore All Records, but well over 3000 when the records are queried under Verify. This must be because Explore All is not pulling records from the NNS: RISC data? The same thing happens with the Southern Green Shieldbug, the other species entered into RISC.
I don't think iRecord used to do this because I remember using it to generate a Leptoglossus distribution map in 2012 which had over 1000 records.
Many thanks
Tristan
hi Tristan
You are right that the NNS surveys share with iRecord for verification but not in the general explore pages. I think that has always been the case but I'll check with the survey organisers.
thanks, David
Thanks for confirming the ID. We'll investigate.
David
Are there any other surveys that appear in Verify but are then excluded from Explore All Records? This isn't expected behaviour and I've never come across it for Odonata.
