iRecord app - Moth Survey

Hi,

I use the iRecord app Moth Survey regularly for my field observations (whether it be a list or a single observation) and find it extremely useful; however, there are a couple of issues I'd like to raise, assuming they are issues and not me missing something.

1. You cannot filter the taxa list to just moths; if moths is the only group ticked, it autolists all taxa possibilities from all groups, not just moths. ideally it should filter just moths irrespective of what other groups are ticked.

2. New Site names are not saved, there is no 'star' icon available as with the casual recording form. The only way I can find to save site names (and view under Menu, Manage Saved) is to create them in the casual form first, then they become available in the Moth Survey.

These remain issues in the latest version v5.4.1.

Best wishes,

Les Evans-Hill

Hi,

Hi,

1. I can't reproduce this. I have tested it on several devices and seems to work fine.  Could you provide more details, screenshots (info@flumens.io)?

2. I have created a feature request ticket  https://github.com/NERC-CEH/irecord-app/issues/228

Hi Vilius,

Hi Vilius,

I've just tried 1 again and I can confirm the following:

In the Moth Survey form I can set the taxon group filters (which I believe I shouldn't be able to do), if I have NO taxon group filters ticked; I type 'norfolk' and I get all names from all taxan groups, I tick Moths, and type 'norfolk' I get just moths listed, and if I tick Moths and Dragonflies and type 'norfolk', I get moths and dragonflies listed.

The Plant Survey works fine, it only lists plants and does not give the users the option to set taxon group filters, while the Moth Survey does in a similar manner to the General Survey, where I would expect to record more than 1 taxon group. The Moth Survey needs to mimic the Plany Survey in this respect and just list moths without the need of taxon group filters.

Hope this clarifies?

Regards,

Les
